Warneke Paper Box is aware of the environmental concerns and we are committed to doing everything possible to ensure a green earth. For over a century, our products have combined the utmost quality with the highest degree of respect for the people and the environment. This is part of the Warneke mission, and always will be.
Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®)
Warneke is committed to responsible forest management through our membership and certifications with FSC. FSC is the most rigorous, credible forest certification system. They ensure that forestry is practiced in an environmentally responsible and socially beneficial manner. FSC’s forest management standards also expand protection of water quality, prohibit harvest of rare old-growth forest, and prevent loss of natural forest cover. It is our responsibility as a manufacturer to ensure our forests are being taken care of and well managed.
Sustainable Forest Initiative® (SFI®)
We are certified to SFI standards. SFI is responsible for maintaining, overseeing and improving a sustainable forestry certification program that is internationally recognized and is the largest single forest standard in the world. When customers see the SFI logo on a product, they can be confident they are buying wood or paper from certified forests or certified sourcing.
Made with Wind Energy
Warneke Paper Box is a proud participant and purchaser of wind energy credits which enables our customers to use the “Carton Made with Wind Energy” logo on their packaging. The term wind energy describes the process by which the wind is used to generate mechanical power or electricity. Wind energy is a source of clean, non-polluting, electricity and does not produce greenhouse gases.
Reduce, Re-Use, Recycle
You can rest easy choosing paper board for your packaging needs. Paperboard is one of the only substrates that is a 100% renewable resource. From the growing of trees, to the recycling of your packaging, paperboard is a smart choice. Warneke offers a large variety of paperboard stock – from virgin fiber boards to recycled boards. All of the board we bring into our facility comes from FSC and SFI certified mill suppliers, to ensure that our forests and ecosystems are being taken care of and well managed for years to come.
Zero Waste Facility
Warneke recycles 100% of its paper waste. From our scrap to our make ready sheets, cores of roll stock to corrugated – we recycle it all. Warneke is equipped with a vacuum scrap removal system that runs throughout the building and is attached to all of our die-cutting machines. This removes all leftover material and sends it straight to our recycling center. These vacuums can be found on the ground at various places throughout the building to sweep up scrap and keep our facility clean.
Our Balemaster “E” Series allows us to bundle our scrap and ship it straight to the mills that recycle it – saving gas, energy and making sure all of our paper waste is recycled.
Enclosing the Balemaster in our building also allows us to recycle warm air through the building versus cold air from outside therefore allowing us to use less electricity and gas for heating.
Printing & Solvent Recycling System
Every job at Warneke is printed with vegetable-based inks or soy-based inks. These inks are better for the environment, produce less VOC’s (Volatile Organic Compounds), and are made with renewable resources such as soy, linseed, and corn. We do not use petroleum-based inks.
Our solvent recycling system recovers and recycles our waste solvents used in our sheet-fed press operations, creating 80% less landfill waste.
You can be assured that Warneke is doing everything to protect our environment and promote a healthy earth. We always have.
